What's Up Kenmore N.Y. ?

We really need to blog more. I think I'm going to start a "What's Up Kenmore N.Y." post each month. I'll just highlight all the fun stuff that's happening around town! July was pretty busy in Kenmore, we had Discover Delaware, and that was a lot of fun, and of course Kenmore Days, and then the Dog Days of Kenmore. I missed Kenmore Days, and Dog Days of Kenmore this year :(

What better way to end such a busy, fun month in July then with a concert, and a Giant Garage Sale. Tonight is the annual Kenmore Merchants Associations "Concert on the Green" featuring the music of "The Strangers". The concert is held in the Village Square at the Corner where Delaware Rd. Delaware Ave. and Lincoln Blvd. all meet. The concert starts at 7:00 this evening, it's a family event, but there will be a beer tent, and food served from Kenmore's favorite sub shop, Mike's Subs !

Then on Saturday, the Kenmore Village Improvement Society is holding the Giant Kenmore Garage Sale.  Maps will be available at the Village Square, and it runs from 9 to 3 in the afternoon. Let's hope for good weather ! If you love bargain hunting and searching for antiques and collectables, nothing beats a garage sale. Here's a copy of the first page of the map with everyone who is participating.

Now for a little shameless self promotion! We will be open tonight till 7:00 in honor of the concert on the green. I'll try and post some pix of the event next week. Tomorrow, Saturday July 26th we will be open from 9:00 till 3:00 and having a 25% to 50% off sale storewide.  Ladies here's a little hint, all purses and summer hats will be 50% off. So if you've had your eye on a purse, tomorrow is the day to score!

June News and Updates

So long spring and welcome summer. June is finally here and the warm weather has arrived in western New York ! It's nice to see everyone walking around in loose fitting clothes, and not bundled up like eskimos !

Warm weather and summer fashion. I love June !

 With summers arrival it's time for street fairs and festivals. The memorial day parade was a blast, and now it's time for Discover Delaware. On June 21st Delaware Ave will feature all your favorite local stores and people from around western New York showcasing their products, goods and services all along Delaware Ave in the lovely Village of Kenmore. There will be live music on the lawn of the municipal building, entertainment, the start of the farmers market where you can purchase some fresh fruits and vegetables, and all kinds of fun gifts, and product ideas from your local merchants.


The Discover Delaware event is a lot of fun, and if you have never been before, you should reserve the day and come down to Kenmore and see what all the fuss is about. Fashion tips for June ...

June is the 6th month of the year, marking the half way point to 2015. WOW, the first 6 months of this year have flown by ! The summer solstice arrives on June 21st this year, and marks the longest day of the year. What a perfect day for the Discover Delaware event. After June 21st the days slowly start to shorten again, a few seconds each day.

May News Letter and Monthly Update.

Hooray, hooray, for the month of May !

Better late than never. Like spring I'm getting a late start on the monthly update article. Things have been busy, we're blogging, and doing the whole social networking thing and working on different ways to introduce people to our products. We decided to run a marketing experiment with Bitcoin ! If you've never heard of Bitcoin, it's a decentralized crypto currency and great way to pay for things on the internet. We just put our first Bitcoin offer on our website, and if that goes well , we will be adding more products with time.

The first item we decided to sell for Bitcoin is a really cute Sterling Silver Peace Sign Pendant. The item is only $13.95 for U.S. Bitcoin users in the lower 48 states. It includes shipping, and is a special offer for online Bitcoin users only. If you live in the local area, it's also available in our store front cash or credit only.

 So we're really moving into the digital age with Bitcoin. We went from no internet presence what so ever, to a website, social networking with Facebook and Google +, and now payments by Bitcoin, and Pay Pal. The time's they are a changing.

Here's a little May related info. May represents the beginning of Spring so it should really come as no surprise that the birthstone for that month is green. This month's birthstone is Emerald. Emeralds are usually a deep or pale green, with small inclusions called gardens that give it the nice deep rich color. Emeralds look great on solitaire pendants, and are beautiful set in rings. Emeralds can also add a nice touch of spring and summer color to earrings and your summer wardrobe.

Time To Start Working On This Blog.

Wow, it's been close to 9 months since I've posted to the blog. I just haven't had the time to work on this thing the way I've wanted to. That's going to change now though. I have to start posting here more.

Things have been really hectic, starting a new business, and getting a website, and all the social networking involved. With all that said, the blog has just ended up being ignored. I'm going to try and get at least a post or two a week up here starting now.

So, what's new at Helene's Mostly Jewelry ? We got some new products, we're now carrying purses, and fashion accessories. We also got a new line of Kameleon sun glasses, and interchangeable rings, necklaces and bracelets. The Kameleon line is a lot of fun because you buy the ring or bracelet, and the stones and designs pop in and out of the jewelry. So one piece of jewelry can be changed into multiple designs. I'll be posting on this soon, with some pictures, and tips on how to get the most out of Kameleon designs. 

Besides that, we've expanded our fashion jewelry line, and now have affordable pieces of jewelry to fit just about any budget. Some of our fashion jewelry prices start as low as $5.00.

The Etsy Shop Is Up !

Getting a jewelry store online is a lot of work. We just got our Etsy shop up and running. We are planning on listing all our vintage and antique jewelry on Etsy. Here's a picture of how the Etsy shop looks.

Right now we have about 9 items for sale. We will be adding more. Rich hasn't been real happy with the pictures so he's building a light box this week, and then we will be adding more products to Etsy, and then creating an inventory on mostly-jewelry.com.

Update, Mostly Jewelry Online !

So, we haven't been posting here or on Facebook or Google Plus for a little bit.Things have been pretty busy. We registered a domain name and we're getting ready to take our business into the modern age. The basic website template is up for mostly-jewelry.com but we still have to plug in our shopping cart, and products. If your bored check out the new site, and I'll keep you all updated on our progress from time to time.

Update and Some Pictures Of The New Store

Happy New Year everyone. It's a bit late, but things get crazy around here during the holidays.

We've been busy trying to straighten out our address information in the search engines. We never tried to have a web presence at the old location, but now that we moved we thought it was time to get with the modern age and start to build an internet presence. Amazingly, this doesn't stop the search engines from indexing your company information.

We discovered that our address and phone number is incorrect in just about every search engine on the internet. Apparently all kinds of companies list your personal business information on the internet whether you asked them to or not. So now that we've moved we have to fix all this wrong information. Blah !

Anyway, everything else is going great here. We love being in Kenmore, and everyone has been very welcoming. The new store is doing great, and we're starting to increase our product line and become more of a jewelry and fashion boutique. You can tell by the pictures that we have a lot of space to fill. We plan on carrying more gift items, and we're getting an island in the center of the store that will hold all kinds of men's and women's fashion accessories.
